The need for plurality in voices

As a migrant South Asian woman performer in Australia, I feel the promise of hope and opportunity. I also feel the need for us to all carve out tools that will help shape a vibrant and inclusive city that is committed to de-centering power structures. Whether the issue is of climate catastrophe, or of domestic violence against women, what is needed as a baseline parameter is kindness, attentiveness and empathy for the situations of others. Music is a wonderful tool in achieving this cohesion. As a singer, I have felt joy, hope, and purpose in making music with others.
